What can you see with a registration number?

The basic data tells you what the car is: technical data, dimensions and masses, tyre sizes, restrictions and damage records in the register. The history tells you what has happened to it: inspections, odometer readings, and the number of owners and deregistrations on a timeline.

A vehicle history report before you buy

Carvian report · €34.90

A registration number search shows what is recorded in the Traficom register. The Carvian report combines the register with other sources and covers the car's background more broadly.

  • Odometer trend and consistency
  • Service history
  • Factory equipment and options
  • Price when new and Carvian score

What is shown depends on the vehicle and the sources available.

Registration number search FAQ

Where does the data come from?

The data is fetched from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom’s transport register when you search. The report shows what is recorded about the vehicle in the register.

Which vehicles can I search for?

Passenger cars. Search by registration number or by the 17-character vehicle identification number (VIN).

How much does a search cost?

Basic data costs €2.90, history €3.90 and both together €5.90. Each search is a one-off payment for one vehicle, not a subscription.

Does a registration number search show crash history?

The basic data shows damage records entered in the Finnish register, such as parts replaced in a damage inspection. The register says nothing about damage abroad or damage that was never recorded in it, so a clean register does not mean the car has no crash history.

How do I get the result?

The result opens in your browser right after payment, and you get a code and a link to the search page by email. The result can be opened for 24 hours after the search.
